STUDIOWORK

Material experiments and play are both crucial components of my art practice, activating my hands and mind in the process of making. They then float from place to place in the studio, waiting for their moment to transform into a larger concept. The term studiowork originates from Briony Fer’s book of the same name covering the archive of Eva Hesse. Fer writes, “Maybe it is something, maybe it is nothing. This is the point…They are often things that are still in the making—and arguably they continue being made as we think about them, remaining in a state of becoming in our minds.” The physical result of an individual studiowork may be small, but the process of showing up eventually becomes the whole of the practice.
